Ellington Colliery Pictures. These photo's are courtesy Terry Maddison who was one of the last miners to work at Ellington colliery in Northumberland. He worked at Bates colliery from the age of 19 until it closed in 1986. He then worked at Whittle colliery for 10 months and when that closed in January 1987 he went to Ellington Colliery. These photo's were taken on Terry's last shift down Ellington.
