I finally managed to go to the National Mining Museum. It's situated on the site of Caphouse Colliery in Yorkshire.
It was certainly a trip down memory lane, we were taken on an underground visit by an ex-coalminer called David, he was absolutely brilliant, telling us stories ranging from the early days of mining up to modern mining methods.
Give yourself at least 3 hours if you decide to go.
